Over 370 wine producers and 569 labels.
Vinum is a showcase and a great opportunity to taste the greatest wines of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato. The city streets turn into tasting tables dedicated to the major selection of wines produced in the area.

Langhe are a vast hilly area winding onto the right orographic side of the Tanaro where, for centuries, there have been ancient vineyards of great prestige that give life to famous red wines such as Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, Dogliani DOCG Superiore, Diano d'Alba DOCG Superiore,  Barbera d'Alba DOC,  Langhe Freisa DOC, Langhe Nebbiolo DOC,  Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC and Verduno Pelaverga DOC.

The denomination of Langhe Origin, however, is restricted to those wines obtained from several white grape varieties cultivated and vinified in this area according to high quality standards. You can taste: Langhe Chardonnay DOC, Langhe Bianco DOC, Langhe Favorita DOC, Langhe Sauvignon DOC and Langhe Nascetta DOC.

At Vinum you can also find the wines of Monferrato, a prestigious wine area divided between the provinces of Asti and Alessandria. The Monferrato area with its beautiful landscapes, castles, ancient and charming villages, unique artisans engrossed in gastronomy and catering, is home to viticulture and oenology of high value, entrusted to its autochthonous vineyards. Here you can taste: Barbera d'Asti DOCG, Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG, Albugnano DOC, Cortese dell’Alto Monferrato DOC, Dolcetto d'Asti DOC, Freisa d'Asti DOC, Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco DOC, Monferrato DOC and Piemonte DOC.

The Roero Arneis DOCG (white wine from Arneis grapes) and the Roero DOCG (red wine from Nebbiolo grapes) are, instead, two grape varieties on which the DOCG is based, on the territory winding on the left bank of the Tanaro, Roero.

Taking part at Vinum there’s also the Associazione Cantine di Alba, born in 2015 to join together the wine producers of the city of Alba and which aims to highlight the great and historic wine companies of the Langhe capital alongside the youngest ones. At the tasting table: Dolcetto d’Alba doc, Barbera d’Alba doc, Nebbiolo d’Alba doc and Alba Doc.

Standing out also Dolcetto, one of the most typical and cultivated Piedmontese autochthonous vines, in various degrees, almost anywhere in the region. The name of the vine is due to the particular sweetness of the grape pulp, although the wines produced are exclusively and definitely dry, characterized by a modest acidity and a pleasant bitter aftertaste. You can taste: Diano d'Alba DOCG, Dogliani DOCG and Dolcetto d'Alba DOC.

For a special toast, please pay a visit to the Asti Spumante DOCG booth, the sparkling aromatic sweet wine par excellence, pride of Italian viticulture or Moscato d'Asti DOCG, our country’s most famous Moscato and one of the most characteristic products of Piedmontese production . Both wines fully embody a genuine Italian history, made of impeccable gestures, respect for tradition and constant improvements.

With the Vinum Aperitifs (only in the wine bars endorsing the initiative) you can taste the Alta Langa DOCG, the prestigious Classic Method obtained on the hills of Alta Langa from the chardonnay and pinot black grapes, in combination with delicious finger food.

The Istituto Grappa Piemonte is also taking part at Vinum  with its grappa and distillates tastings. Thanks to the ANAG (National Association of Grappa Tasters) staff a tasting table service is provided alongside specific product and wineries information. Young distillates, aged in different woods, grappas with herbs and many other products, will give you an in-depth knowledge of this exclusively remarkable Italian product.
