The workshop includes a general presentation of the area in which Barolo and Barbaresco are produced, including the history, climatic, geological and production features that make these terroirs unique, where the Nebbiolo grape has always expressed its excellence. The tasting, hosted by an AIS Piemonte Sommelier, will emphasize differences, common elements and production styles.

This Consortium protects the collective Denominations Brands, carries out market surveillance, manages the Denominations policy, deals with the Product Specifications, promotes the knowledge of the Wines and their conscious consumption, enhancing their territories of origin, the millennial history and ability to interpret the present and the future with every single company’s own style, always respecting traditions. It is the expression of men and women passionately woven into their lands and dedicated to a hilltop viticulture of excellence. Through rigorous checks on the entire production chain, entrusted every three years to a Third Certification Body that distributes the numbered bands printed by the State Mint, this Consortium provides the consumer with a guarantee of the correspondence of the most valuable Piedmontese wines to the strict quality standards set out in the law. The consortium consists of almost five hundred companies and 80% of the total production of the Denominations that stands at around an annual volume of 60 million bottles of 75 cl. on average, deriving from 10,000 hectares of vineyards.
