Two guided tours of the Barolo vineyards to discover some of the most famous crus from which the “King of Wines” comes.

In collaboration with Vinum, the National Fair of the Wines of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, scheduled in Alba from 25th April to 5th May 2024, Strada del Barolo is organising two tours of the Barolo vineyards to discover first-hand the excellence and prestige of some of the most famous “MGA“, the Additional Geographical Mentions, often called “cru“, from which the “King of Wines” comes. A tour of some of the most important Barolo production areas, dedicated to wine lovers who want to learn about the factors that determine the character and infinite facets of Barolo.

Aim of the tour
The geological composition of the land, exposure, slope and altitude combine with the human factor to determine the character of this great wine: these factors can be summed up in the term “cru”, a word borrowed from the French, which denotes the part of a vineyard with specific characteristics, a unique microclimate and, unfailingly and decisively, the work of man. A magic microcosm capable of making each wine truly unique.

The aim of the tour is to make this concept understandable in a simple and “experiential” way, by visiting three different Barolo vineyards, accompanied by a professional guide/ sommelier, to learn about the peculiarities of the soil, climate and man’s work that have determined the characteristics that will be found in the glass. The tour will end with a tasting of the three Barolo wines from the vineyards visited, as described by the sommelier at the winery of one of the producers involved in the project.

Tour programme
The tour will take place on Sunday 28th April and Sunday 5th May, departing at 9.00 am from the Vinum stands in Piazza Medford 3 in Alba (CN) and returning at around 1.30 pm.
