Treasure hunt in the Langhe

Friday 1st May 2025

From 9.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.

Alba

On Friday, May 1st, 2026, the magnificent hills of the Langhe and their charming small villages will be the setting for the 17th edition of the Treasure Hunt in the Langhe, organized by Turismo in Langa APS with the patronage of Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero, the Association for the Heritage of the Vineyard Landscapes of Piedmont: Langhe – Roero and Monferrato, the Ente Fiera Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco d’Alba, and the Strada del Barolo e grandi vini di Langa, in collaboration with Love Langhe Tour and Baladin Open Garden.

The Treasure Hunt in the Langhe, now a well-established annual event, has renewed its game format in recent editions, allowing participants to use their smartphones to access the various challenges. At each stop, the “hunters” can take part in guided tours and tastings, and at the end of each task, each team will receive a code to enter on their phone in order to “unlock” the next objective and continue the hunt in search of new clues.

The treasure hunt will follow a fascinating route starting from the town of Alba and winding through the Langhe area, a unique territory recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014. It is an open-air theatre featuring breathtaking landscapes adorned with splendid vineyards, museums, castles, theatres, and small villages. Participants will reach the very heart of the Langhe, truly experiencing the hills where some of Italy’s finest wines are born, which will be tasted directly in local wineries.

This initiative is aimed at all those wishing to spend a day with friends or family, discovering the beauty and delicacies of this magnificent territory. The route proposed for the Treasure Hunt will cover a vast part of the Langhe, therefore requiring travel by car or motorcycle. This year, for the first time, among the various routes, one will be entirely dedicated to families, featuring activities designed to help both adults and children discover the area.

The Treasure Hunt will not be a timed competition: the goal is to enjoy a fun and playful day in wonderful company! The greatest treasure participants will take home will be the discovery of a rich and precious territory. There will be the opportunity to experience it in all its facets, as the stops and corresponding clues will revolve around themes such as food and wine, local traditions, art, and the history of the region—allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the Langhe.

With a view to offsetting the environmental impact of the event, in past editions Turismo in Langa has supported biodiversity protection projects through the Treasure Hunt in the Langhe. This year, the event has chosen to support the project “Tempo di donare” by Le2Impronte APS, an association founded in Alba in 2013 that promotes psycho-physical well-being through Pet Therapy and Green Therapy. The association brings together a team of qualified professionals and certified animals for Animal-Assisted Therapy, with the aim of fostering the human–animal relationship and contact with nature, providing tangible benefits to individuals and the community.
