ROERO: THE TWO CHARMING FACES OF A LAND OF SANDS, ROCKS AND WINE

April 23, 2022

At 6.00 p.m.

Cortile della Maddalena - Sala Beppe Fenoglio

Price: € 20

A land of ancient winemaking traditions which today, more than ever, is the protagonist of a dynamic and surprising development. We will discover the Roero in its two souls, through the two grape varieties that tell its story, Arneis and Nebbiolo, and through the different expressions that the climate and soil of this side of the Tanaro river can give to the wines.

CONSORZIO TUTELA DEL ROERO
Roero Docg is divided into two types of wine: Roero, a red wine containing Nebbiolo grapes, and Roero Arneis, a white wine containing grapes of the same name. The Consorzio di Tutela del Roero, chaired by Francesco Monchiero, was established to carry out protection, promotion, enhancement, consumer information functions, looking after the general interests related to the “Roero” Docg, which is divided into Roero, Roero Riserva, Roero Arneis and Roero Arneis Spumante.
The ultimate purpose of this Consortium is promoting the Roero territory and making its wines known, both in Italy and abroad. As the archives show us, the art, the landscape and the architecture of the peasant houses, the vine and the wine on the Roero hills, represent culture, passion and farmers’ pride, all the time. In fact, the Roero wine-producing landscape, as well as that of Langhe and Monferrato, have been declared part of the UNESCO cultural heritage of humanity.
